Why is there a shield icon next to my battery

Hey guys, this icon just appeared on my phone today, it appears to be a little shield next to my battery. What is that? And is there a way to turn it off?

I do, but I just changed it back to adaptive. But it's strange. It's the first time the icon has appeared on my phone. But I've had the 80% thing on for a week now

That worked mustang, that got rid of it! But how strange that it just showed up after week. I've been using the 80% all week. But I think I'm going to switch back to adaptive for a little bit. Are you doing adaptive charging or the 80%?

Probably a glitch, no I haven't done the 80% I just stop at 92 to 95 , I wish they had that option like my iphone and Samsung devices.

Ah nice. Yeah that would be cool too. If it gave you like a little slide or something, you could decide at what percentage you want to charge up to.

Mine did the same thing this morning. Pulled it off the charger and it had the shield symbol next to the battery percentage, which stayed green even though it was no longer charging. My phone is set for adaptive charging but it was not set to 80% max charge. Instead, it's set to hit 100% just before my alarm. A restart fixed it.
