Why is there only one half of a spare leather strap with my new S2 Classic?

I recently bought a Gear S2 Classic, Rose Gold watch on my catalogue. The box was sealed. Inside I was surprised to find a spare leather strap, great, but there's only one half of the two-piece strap. Is this usual, or should there be included the two halves as spares. Before I make a complaint or return the watch (which I don't want to do), I am asking you good folk if anyone knows...one half or two?!

Compare it to the one already on the watch. Are they the same length? It's probably a different size to fit a different sized wrist.
