I think that after games, streaming videos and music, that web browsing seems to be the most battery draining activity that you can do on a phone.

No matter what I do when I'm web browsing I find I can drain so much battery.. is this the same for others?

How ever when I am using other very apps such as Pinterest I find it doesn't drain as much... Maybe it's the pictures on the websites maybe I should disable pictures to get better battery life...anyone feel the same....
Also it doesn't matter to much what browser I'm using, chrome, dolphin, boat...

Hmm..
My biggest battery draining app is Facebook.
Web browsing barely takes any battery.
Yeah agreed Facebook is an unnecessary battery hog... But still find webrowsing just as damaging to battery life..its probably all the multimedia adverts, using chrome canary which seems quite good so far actually... We need adblocking technology in Google soon but that works damage Google's revenue...I guess that's why they are promoting this new web AMP technology...

Most likely it is the ads, especially the video ads.
Firefox with an ad blocker works well for me.

Just also bear in mind that when you are web browsing many aspects of the device are being used. The screen is on 100% of the time, and you are sending and receiving data and loading pages as you browse. If you are using 3G/4G instead of wifi this creates even more drain.

This has always been the case for me over many years and several different devices both android and iOS. I dont think that its Android 6 Marshmallow specific, it's simply just that web browsing is an intensive process.
