Why is wifi on android horrible?

hey there. I replaced my iphone se with a LG G6, and returned that with a LG V30. I got the G6 a month ago and returned it not too long ago and got a new LG V30. Both of the phones have horrible wifi. I have a wifi extender in my room and on my iphone i got full bars and blazing speed. On my android i have 2-3 bars at most and the wifi is terrible. DMs on IG will often take minutes to send and skipping through youtube videos buffers a lot. This also happens on my school wifi. The odd thing is that when i tap on my network it says the connection strength is excellent. Everything ive said about the bad wifi has happen both on the G6 and V30. And yes ive restarted router, tried connecting phone on the router not extender. Nothing has worked.Please help

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have a case on? Also, if Bluetooth is on, try turning it off, since it can sometimes interfere with 2.4 GHz wi-fi.
