I have a Levovo tab S8-50LC. I recently upgraded to Android 5.0.1 from Android 4.4 KitKat and I also updated my Google app. When I press and hold the home button, it shows the icon, does the animation (that looks like a water ripple across the screen), but then after that. . .nothing happens. Just one time, I got the message, "could not launch Google assistant from home button hold" or something like that.
A workaround I was able to figure out (for those it might be helpful for) was to use the Zone Assistive Touch app. I set the function of one of the buttons to "launch assistant", then I chose Google assistant as default.
But, I'd still like to launch the assistant the regular way. Can anyone help me figure out how?
