Why isn't Lollipop the same on Nexus 4 as on Nexus 5?

lollipop not the same on nexus 4 as on nexus 5

I updated my nexus 4 to android lollipop but it is not the same as in nexus 5, different animations are missing. for eg the app tray has black background etc

Redo the update on the 4 (you may have to get your carrier to do it). The Android update method leaves a lot to be desired, including the possibility of errors that go undetected by the update. (And there will be differences between phone models - each update is written for that phone, it's not the same update for all phones.)

You will get the white background if you switch to Google Now launcher. The original launcher has black background
