Why isn't my camera saving photos to the gallery on my Samsung Galaxy Core Prime?

my camera is not saving photos to gallery on samsung galaxy core prime

when i take a picture it appears in lower left thumbnail of camera. When i tap the thumbnail, picture appears. If i exit the camera and then try to find the picture in my gallery, it is not there. Was working fine the day before yesterday and i have made no changes with the sd card, camera or gallery.
