Why isn't my fingerprint reader working?

Got an lg g6 and recently factory reset my phone. When setting up the finger print sensor I got an error instantly saying that I can't enroll my finger and I need to use another finger. I restarted my phone to now see the finger print option has somehow disappeared. Smart doctor says there are no problems with the hardware so I'm not sure what is the problem. Can someone please help?!

Try this solution
Power off your G6. Press down the volume up and down key while powering it back on. You'll enter another mode where it shows IMEI number etc. Power your G6 back on normally and you'll see the option reappear. It worked for me.
