Why isn't my LG4 photo editing saving?

LG4 photo editing not saving

I got an LG4 yesterday and while messing around with it edited a few photos with no issues. Today I updated the google photos app to ensure that my photos were being backed up and now the photo editing options have changed and they will no longer save. When i click the pen icon to edit it has different editing options and every time I try to save a picture it says "unable to save." How do I fix this?

Look at the Common Issues and Solutions sticky; there are a couple of threads covering the "can't save edit" issue. The long and short of it is that many apps, including Google's own photos app, do not yet implement the lollipop SD security api. Luckily, there are other photo editing apps that do. Read through those threads to find out how to solve the problem.
