Why isn't my Moto G turning on, but the light comes on when on the charger?

Moto G not turning on, but the light comes on when on the charger.

My moto G has not been turning on, and when I put it on the charger, all that happens is the light is on constantly, not flashing. I have tried the VOL DOWN button and the power button together on the charger for minutes, but the phone still is unresponsive.

Plug in the charger, leave the phone alone for 24 hours, then see what happens. A dead battery won't get any charge for the first hour or so, it's in the pre-charge state. Once it gets some charge, it switches over to the constant current state. It can take a couple of hours to get to the point that it won't die the moment you turn the phone on.

I have tried doing that and it still doesn't work
