Why isn't my Moto G3 screen lock working?

moto g3 screen lock not working

Hi,

I tried to set moto g3 lock but its not working, its only enabling slide after which it will not show security lock , no matter whatever we set(pattern /number lock). Can you please help with this problem..

Welcome to Android Central! Are you able to select a different screen lock method at all, or does it not even let you go to that menu?

Do you have Smart Lock turned on?

I am able to select different locks it allows me to go for that menu but even though i set it, it will not be enabled. only slide lock is enabled. i have not set any smart lock.

Hi Sagar, welcome to the forums! Do you have any antivirus or screen lock app installed in your phone? Go to settings - security - device administrators and check what's listed there. I've read several reports of some antivirus apps causing similar issues.

Also, what is the lock timeout set to? There should be two timeouts--the first being the screen timeout (i.e., how long to wait while idle before the screen shuts off), and the second being the lock timeout (i.e., how long after the screen shuts off before the phone locks). If the lock timeout is set to something like 5 minutes, then you might not be giving it enough time to lock, if you're just testing it out. If you wait 30 minutes, does it lock correctly?
