Why isn't my phone going to sleep with I press the power button?

Issues with restart message/power button

Phone was working fine, then started to not go to sleep when I pressed the power button. It also frequently posts a message informing me about how to restart the phone using the power and volume buttons. It only goes away if I press the volume up or down.

Is this a common issue, or has anyone else come across it? Any ideas as to how top prevent it would be great. I tried a hard reset but have had no success with it.

Just wondering if the phone might have reconfigured what tapping the power button does, as that's when it seems to occur (although not every time as far as I can tell.)

That's very strange--I haven't seen that before. Does it only occur while you're in Twitter?

It doesn't seem to depend on what I'm doing, certainly not just twitter related.

Will have a go at booting into recovery. Otherwise I guess I'll see if I can get a replacement.
