Why isn't my samsung galaxy s4 phone working?

My phone is stuck on YouTube and I can't turn it off or reset it. I tried texting/calling it with another phone,but it just receives the notification sound/ringtone. Can anyone help me? Never mind my uncle just took the battery out.

Welcome to Android Central! I'm glad your uncle showed you the surefire way of rebooting a frozen phone (at least, one whose battery you can remove). Another way is to press and hold the Power button for about 15-20 seconds, which should force a shutdown.
