Why isn't my Samsung Gear S2 marking messages read?

Samsung Gear S2 not marking messages read

I get emails, texts, etc. perfectly fine on my gear S2. Whether I reply, read, dismiss a notification on the watch, it still shows I have unread texts and emails on my phone(note 5) which I clearly read on my watch. Let me be specific and say that the actual notification on the lock screen and status bar are gone(of the phone). However, my message/email icon at the bottom shows unread messages. How do I make it so that when I clear a message on my watch it is marked as read on my phone?

I don't believe you can at this time.

While I appreciate the response, You actually can as I just discovered . If you open the message up In the app on the watch it will be marked read on the phone as well, thank you for the response.

It would be nice for them to disappear after just opening from notification. Without all the extra steps of opening from app on phone.
