Why isn't my Samsung Note 4 Dial Pad pulling up when I am on a call?

Samsung Note 4 Dial Pad

I've been having issues with my Samsung Note 4 dial pad. When I'm on an active phone call, I am unable to dial any numbers. For example: if I Call an automated system, I am unable to choose any options. the numbers don't work when I click them. I tried replacing my phone with another Note 4 assuming it may be a defective one....but the new one has that same issue. Am I missing something here or is there a way to fix that? I am now stuck with two Note 4 phones with the same issue. I'm about to return both. please help! thank you!

Welcome to Android Central! Open the Phone/Dialer app, tap Menu, then Settings or Call Settings, and see if there are any settings for DTMF tones.

Thank u for replying. yes there is DTMF settings and there are two options. "Long" and " Normal". The "Normal" one is highlighted

Omg thank you!!! I changed the DTMF to Long and it worked! I really can't thank you enough! ????????????
