Why isn't my wives Google Sync working?

Google Sync...

My wife's phone just got updated to Lollipop this afternoon.
She is now experiencing multiple sync issues with some Google services. Calendar, Drive, Play Books, Movies &TV, Music, G+ photos and Sound Search are all reporting problems.

I've tried:
Restarting
Switching off WiFi

Has anyone else run into this issue? How can I fix it?

1. Option 1 - Wipe cache partition
2. Option 2 - Hard Reset (Master Reset) Back to Factory Fresh State and Manually Resync/Reinstall All Apps and Data

Same exact issue here...sync not working for gmail, Play Store etc. Did you find a fix? I'm wiping the cache partition now....which seems to be taking a long time.

Did you end up wiping the phone? I'm trying to find out if that will actually work or if I'll end up with a useless phone.

I also lost SMS. I had it merged with Hangouts, so I'm not sure if it's just buggy and is eating my SMS. But basically everything Google has stopped working. Except Chrome since the internet works.
