Why isn't the Rhinoshield Crash guard bumper case talked about more?

I put a Slickwraps Honeycomb skin on the back on my S8 a couple days ago and was using the phone otherwise naked for the last couple days. I'm always careful with my things and have never actually dropped a phone and broken one in anyway and I've been using smartphones since the original Motorola Droid. I usually go caseless and without a screen protector and I've never had an issue yet. This phone is a bit more fragile though so I'd been using it with a Tech 21 case up until a couple days ago.

Anyway, today I received the Rhinoshield Crashguard bumper as well. The following remarks are only my initial impressions, but I see myself liking it and sticking with it. It seems to work well with the Slickwraps Honeycomb back skin. I put it on like the instructions say and it slid right on over the skin with no issues. I don't see any reason for the need to remove and reinstall the bumper over and over. It's on here pretty tight so I don't see dust and debris getting under it. Speaking of tight, the sides are nowhere near as loose as I thought they may be from some of the reviews I've read. Maybe it's a bigger problem on the S8+. It's a bit harder and more plasticy than I had imagined, I thought it would be softer and more rubbery. Using the buttons on the side is going to take a little getting used to. It's not that they are hard to push, but there is very little feel to them, probably again because the bumper is more plastic and less rubber or silicone. So far though it feels good in the hands and looks great, especially with the Slickwraps Honeycomb skin on the back.

I'll write back later with a more long term review but so far I like it and don't see why it's not getting talked about more. I'll also post some pics of the case/skin combo.

Looks nice! I personally don't think bumpers with a skin is enough drop protection though.

I have a grey on silver with no skins applied and has been working great in all kinds of drops. I have 8+ with it fitting good - not loose.

The 11 ft spec from Rhinoshield is with just the bumper, nothing else. There have been YouTube videos with drop tests that confirm what Rhinoshield claims. The skin is just for looks and to avoid the fingerprints and grime that builds up on the naked back of the phone itself.

Have you seen videos of the rhino shield with the S7 edge and S8 series phones. I've seen them with a flat screen, think it was the S7, I was very impressed. If you have seen videos with an edge phone please share, as there would be a difference between edge screens and flat screens.

I would be like you, I just see the edges an issue with this case. Rhino sponsored a drop test with a flat screen, why don't they sponsor one with edge screens, now the S8 plus. I would do it, send me a locked S8 plus and I'll test it till I'm tired of doing it or it finally breaks. If it don't break I'll send the phone back to them, I'll even pay for the return shipping.

Still impressive on the S8 plus, but why not give it the same test as the S6.

I'm still interested, for the normal falls looks decent protection. I backed off because of the reviews on YouTube showing the bumper loose and buttons are hard to push and rhino is kind of a pain to return.

Here's mine with matte black dbrand skin. Excellent combo imo.

I just ordered the black bumper and the dragon skin from dbrand. That black with the matte black looks awesome.

The buttons aren't hard to push, they just don't have a lot of feel with the Rhinoshield on.

The Rhinoshield and Slickwraps skin both work with wireless fast charging. My phone also worked with wireless fast charging with a Tech 21 case on.

Does the rhino shield work with wireless charging?. Do you also use the rhino glass front screen protector with it, how does it work if you do? Thanks
This will be my first rhino shield. I've also never used their screen protectors. I currently have a zagg wet apply on which is ok but I prefer the iq liquid shield. It's a lot cheaper and thought it felt better.

I just ordered the iq liquid shield. I've been trying a few tempered glass but all are adverse to touch sensitivity. I just can't bring myself to pay for the Whitestone dome glass protector.

I bought the Rhino shield based on all the good reviews and droptests. BUT after the Samsung S8 was mounted in it I notice that the left and right bars is flimsy fit. If you press it down from above with as little force as it takes to push a buttons it will click and fall out of place, when you release it will pop right back. Its a nice case but these bars makes it feel a bit flimsy. I suspect that becouse of tha loose fit there might get in some dust between the case and the phone.

The fit is however by design to eas the mount according to the company.

Another think that I dont like and that I in a way knowed before the buy is that it does not protect the phone from uneven ground for example outside. Its likely that some rock or something straches the back or front when falling down on a uneven ground.

You could add some kind of extra protection like Dbrand but then it starts to feel expensive and a bit missmatched.

I bought the Samsung silicon case instead and it should protect the phone a bit better as long as the drop is not over 2 m. It feels good and it makes it easier to use the fingerprint lock.

But as I said, the Rhino Shield do looks really nice on and it does protect more then you could think but at the same time less then you might think depending on some factors.

I loved them on the regular S8 when I had it. Only reason I went with zagg is I exchanged the S8 for the plus and wanted something that day instead of ordering online and waiting.

I just got my rhino shield and dragon skin for my S8 plus and at first the rhinoshield started to peel up the back. After I put a different case on for the night and put the rhinoshield back on it works perfect and absolutely love the combo.
