AC Question

I have an LG V20; Android 7.0 BN: NRD90M.

At work today I plugged in my V20 to my desktop so that I could quickly move files from the computer onto my phone, as I have done at home many times before. However, this time, my phone did not prompt me what type of connection I was using over USB, thus my phone only charged over the connection and I could not access any files.

I installed the LG Mobile Device Driver and PC Suite, as well as the Mobile Support Tool, all to no avail.

At first I thought this was a PC problem, but I believe that the problem is within the phone. I think that if I can force the phone to notify me that I've plugged it in via USB, asking me what connection I want (charge only, file transfer etc.) then it would work.

Also, I plugged my V20 into a co-worker's comp and it didn't work there either.

What should I do?

If the driver is installed (which you say it is), and I'm assuming that it still works properly at home, the only thing left would be a bad cab;e. (There should be 4 wires in the cable - 2 for data, 2 for charging, so the fact that the phone charges from the PC has nothing to do with being recognized as a phone, which is done by using the data lines.)

Cables do tend to break the tiny wires in them. Also, the microUSB port could be damaged, and it won't work at home any more.
