Why keyboard does not appear to input password while screen is locked

[Android Central Question]

My unit is myphone model myA9 DTV. I cant open because the keyboard is not showing so i can input the password for the lockscreen. Did shutdown and pulled out battery a couple of times but keyboard still does not appear

Are you using a hardware keyboard? If so, is it wireless or wired?
