why low pixel for camera?

My galaxy s3 has a 8mp camera so why can't this tablet twice the size have the same if not better? Just 3mp and fixed focus as that, one downfall I have with this tablet.

It's because the Tab 4 is meant to be a budget device. The Tab Pro, Tab S, or Note lines are their flagship tablets.
