Why multiple steps to add Bitmojis to my texts???

Am I doing something wrong???
I'm in Messages in a current text thread with someone. I change to Bitmoji keyboard. I choose a Bitmoji and then it clears out the person I've been texting so I have to put their name back in at the top. Why does this happen???

Are you using the stock messaging app? When you send a bitmoji, since that's not a standard character or emoji, you're essentially sending an image, which then converts your conversation into an MMS message. The messaging app might be handling SMS and MMS differently, so I'd try to use a 3rd party app to see if the behavior remains.

Thanks. I downloaded Google Messenger. Still have to re-add the person back buts it much quicker than Samsung Messenger.
