AC Question

Hi,
I have a Samsung tablet TAB 4 – SM-T530 which shows problem when charging: charging paused, battery temperature too low.

Using an app, I found out the battery temperature is shown constantly as -20°C, even when there is not charger plugged.

Do you know where the problem might be?
Do you know where the battery temperature sensor is located?
Do you know if the battery temperature can be overwritten in order to allow the charging?

Thank you in advance!

Not all devices provide the full battery info. Maybe your device doesn't provide temperature info and that's why it would be showing the constant number out of range. Also, if the battery has been replaced with a non-OEM one, the control chip might be missing that feature.

Welcome to AndroidCentral 😃

Not all Apps that provide information about your battery are always correct. It's more of a general guide. As long as your phone doesn't feel abnormally hot or abnormally cold, I wouldn't worry to much about what the App says.

Maybe -20 C is just the default temperature when nothing was found.

Unfortunately the problem is that the battery is not charging, the error message is: “charging paused, battery temperature too low”.
No battery was replaced; the original is still inside the tablet and seems to work properly.

Are you getting that error from the system or is the app stopping the charge? It could be that the battery is defective or at its end of life if it's not charging or that your device has a problem with the charging port and/or circuit.
