why my lg verizon vs986 always stuck on download mode and to flash a firmware

when i try to flash a firmware on my lg phone using lgup it always stop on 17% and boot on step and the same problem always show whatever firmware i use

Does that include the stock ROM? If so, it's probably bad storage. (That would mean a new motherboard, and since you can get a good used one on Swappa for about $150, it probably wouldn't pay.)
