why my phone suddenly auto lock when in unlock

my phone is suddenly auto lock many times when its unlock...now i cant see my whatsapp and other apps...i tried to restart & power off but still the same...please tell me the solution and im urgent...PLEASE HELP ME

Welcome to Android Central! Do you mean it's going to the lockscreen without you doing anything, and well before the screen timeout that you set? Are there any magnets near the phone? Magnets can sometimes trigger a smartcover feature on the phone.
