Android Central Question

Hello guys,
I had note 8 2 weeks ago and it got android pie update, i saw samsung schedule and noticed that S9, S9+ & note 9 will have the pie update on January but the weird thing is when i upgraded my note 8 to s9+ and tried to look for updates it says that i've latest update
My current android version is 8
My samsung experience version is 9
My friend that i bought the s9+ from told me that he got the update but disabled it somehow because he hadn't good internet to download it.. but when he made factory reset it says that the phone has latest update
Is my phone will get the update or not, and if it's is there an approximated date for it
Thanks in advance

There's no approximate date - updates are staged. Once an update is released, a few phones get it at a time in any given area, to keep from overloading the servers. It could be a month, even more, between the "announced release" and the time your phone gets it. (You could try XDA Forums and see if someone has captured an update for your variant of the S9+. But make sure it's for your variant - "updating" with the wrong variant update file could brick the phone.)
