Why not a Galaxy Note Active?

I went to Best Buy to see the Note 8 tonight and I came across the S8 Active. If Samsung made a Note with a rugged body, 4000 mAh battery, and flat screen, I would be the first in line to buy it. Especially working in a field like mine. Calm one-minute, Balls to the walls the next.

The Note is already kind of a niche product, I think a Note Active would be even more niche. Samsung won't make something that they can make a lot of money from.

yes, a flat screen Note and I'd be jumping all over it! Give me a flat screen!

I find the Edge style screens useless. I hardly ever use the edge features.

To be honest... So they don't have a 4th phone. They have the S8.. the note 8 and then the active for the rugged type. Making a 4th I doubt would warrant enough profits to make it worthwhile.

Even though I know they won’t, I thought the exact same thing when I went to B.B. last weekend to play with the Note and they had the Active.

I hadn’t been a big fan of actives in the past but the body design looks great, clean lines and feels sturdy and not cheap. Doesn’t feel very thick either so why I thought they could have made the Note thicker and it would have been ok if it had a 4000 mah battery. I even liked the size... felt perfect between the S8 and S8+. And the flat glass was nice.

Active is a good option and the Note is a good option. Both serve two different markets. If you combined them the comprimized result would be unsatisfactory to many in both markets.

Note Active is a great idea. Especially when I see so many people here on AC state the benefits of the S-Pen eg people on work sites drawing or editing a design note and writing measurements etc. Working in the building industry I know most people wouldn't go near a Note 8 for their job as it's way too fragile so really it's aimed at white collar workers who only make up a small percentage of the real world. The Active range may be geared toward sports and adventure enthusiasts but it could fit right into manual working hands too. A tough body and a flat screen and I bet it would sell

I personally would kill for a stylus equipped note active with a gigantic battery...

YES! I work in construction + architecture and a robust Note will be the BEST!. Edges on Notes don't work, plus the new screen ratio sux, it's not a NOTE (looking) phone, It's a Galaxy Receipt now.

I think it would be cool but doubt it would happen. They haven't even come out with the S9 active yet

Another one here who works in construction and would like flat screen, 16/9, and big battery on a Note. At least we are getting one of the three.

It sucks that they skipped the S9 Active this year. I wonder if they'll even bring back the Active next year.
