Why not WiMax and LTE.

I know WiMax is going to be phased out over the next couple years and LTE is replacing the Nextel frequency. So why not put both radios in the phone?

For those of us that won't get LTE for a while we could just use WiMax and if you had LTE you could just keep WiMax off. Is it cost, size, or just not wanting to use an "outdated" product?

Maybe HTC and Sprint didn't want to spend their time and cash developing and testing it. Every feature has a cost associated with it.

.. and size. What would you give up to have Wimax and LTE in the same phone? These microSD? The extra 16GB? A couple hundred milliamps on the battery? The external camera button?

I say leave the wimax dinosaur, and all the money wasted on that technology in the past. There sure are a lot of us who never had access to it and won't miss it in the least. However, I know there are some who will lose 4G for a while. To them I would say hang onto your current device until lte is availing your neighborhood.

Even with 4G access, the only time it ever worked was while I was outside anyway. Not exactly too useful.
