Why Tab s3 over iPad Pro?

3rd option: Galaxy Book if you need Windows - which I do. Love mine with LTE, great stylus, and lighted keyboard.

I might look into that one once Verizon has them - they may be doing a special for upgrading. I have my Tab S3 through them, and my phone lines through Tmobile. Only reason I don't have the TabS3 with Tmobile - they don't offer it.
That's what cause me to go with the iPad pro 10.5 really wish I would've bought an unlocked tab s3 as the only thing I really like is the quad speakers(didn't realize the tab a3 had them too).

I came pretty close to getting an iPad Pro 10 myself a little while back but would help me back was the downpayment involved and TMobile requiring it to be on a higher type of data account. The tab S3 that I have through Verizon is on a $10 monthly data plan but most of the time I use wifi or T-Mobile HotSpot

T-mobile's lowest data is 2 gigs for 10 and what I really love is their unlimited data for tablets on tmobile one is 20 with auto pay that's another thing that sealed the deal for me. Do understand that their down payments have gotten on the higher side compared to Verizon's zero down on literally every device.

Yea. And I like tmobile. Don't know why they don't offer the higher end Tab S3 grr.

I have both an iPad Pro 9.7 with Apple Pencil and LTE, and a Tab-S3 with S-Pen, also LTE capable. I have two main use-cases for my tablet - web browsing/media/e-mail, and note-taking in work projects.

The biggest negatives (for me) with the iPad Pro is the fear of running out of charge on the pencil (even though the inking experience is excellent) and, the real deal-breaker, is the lack of an accessible file structure, a must-have for business use. That second negative is why I've finally moved full-time to my Galaxy Note 8 phone, giving my iPhone 6S+ to my wife. Another negative for the Apple Pencil is no functional charge-level gauge.

The positives for the iPad are battery life and a smooth OS, along with the availabilty of One-Note.

The Tab S3 with S-Pen offers a smooth inking experience with Wacom EMR, a file structure, choice of Samsung Notes, S-notes or One-Note. I acquired an LTE-capable Tab-S, so no connectivity issues. The MicroSD is another plus.

I have a $10/month AT&T sim card as an add-on to my AT&T phone account, and I never come close to the 12 GB of monthly data limit. The use of a 128 GB MicroSD provides the comfort of never having a "crowded" feeling from having my business files available locally.

Finally, I am on a Windows platform in my business. I can see that perhaps someone completely on the Apple eco-system would lean towards the iPad.

So-far, the Tab-S has served me well.

Have had an iPad since it was first released, and switched to the Tab S3 last fall. I like the Tab much better. The pen works better, split screen is more functional, and overall the feature set on the Tab is much more robust. Some of the apps on the iPad are better developed, however. But I just could not get past the fact that the iPad is not much more than an app depository and manager, while the Tab with its widgets, pen, and other features is more of a tool that makes me more productive during the day. Do not miss my iPad at all.

In relpy to OneNote availability, it is available on the Tab as well. In fact, the Tab version allows you to have a small OneNote icon always available near the edge of the display so you can open it quickly. Cannot do this on the iPad.

Wow you US people get locked into contracts? Here down under everything is bought unlocked. When you buy a phone even from a carrier, they provide the finance seperately, if you want to break contract you have to pay off the remainder.

Anyway, if you are buying for Art, I would go the Ipad Pro, I dont believe the Galaxy Pen experience is better. Lisa Gade who is a tech journalist and does digital art herself did a good review of them. She recommends the Ipad Pro for artists. Due to the screen refresh there is no lag, even though the Surface Pro is quick, you can see it side by side in slow motion. The Ipad Pro is as close to writing on paper as you are going to get.

Im refering to the newer 10.5. Id like to know the pressure changes between the 10.5 and the S3 as the S3 was better than the 9.7 Pro

Also file structure has been released on the ipad pro. Its in its infancy. The problem I see is there is no way to import files without buying a dongle, which was clearly done by apple as usual, to make more money.

The big thing that stopped me was no trackpad or mouse. For that reason it cant replace a notebook.

To be honest the CPU and GPU is plenty powerful enough for OSX, it would require redeveloping the screen to work with OSX, current iOS has generations of touch use so it was just the easy option.

Tablets using phone OS are a dying technology.

MS will release andromeda which will replace your notebook, tablet, phone in one device. Where previously they developed win10 to work across 3 devices, for some reason the bought lumia, buried it and have gone this path. Clearly some users will need a high powered PC so Win10 isnt going anywhere.

The reason I would buy the galaxy is for the Amoled and HDR, although Id like to see a comparison of the 2 screens for media consumption. The galaxy isnt even 1440p. The Ipad Pro is 120hz variable and retina. Also the CPU and GPU of the a10x is very powerful, unlike a SD820 SOC, although apple software isnt as overly optimised as mentined hence why apps dont fly like they should.

The reason Im interested in the s3, its cheaper, its samoled + hdr (which im hoping looks better for netflix hdr content) and Im hoping the s3 can Dex and be used as a low power desktop just for when you want to use a mouse and keyboard and big screen.

When will the s4 be released?

I recently bought an iPad Pro 9.7 and while it's a good device, I honestly am a bit underwhelmed by it. But I got it because I didn't really see much in the Android space.

As I'm thinking about selling it for an Android Tablet I've come across the Tab s3.

What do you like about it (especially in comparison to an iPad)?

The Tab S3 has a great screen and design. I love having an S-Pen (though not fully like the Note S-Pen) and it comes in handy.

I think it is crippled by 32GB and lag. No, I am not one of those "LagDroid" trolls. I have lag all the time on the S3, especially after it wakes from "Doze." And 32GB is quite tight. You can move apps to the MicroSD card but performance drops big time.

I hope it gets Oreo soon because I really like it on my Pixel 2 XL Phone.

Side Note - I demoed a Pixelbook for a few weeks, in place of my Tab S3. I could get used to a Chromebook tablet. The Android Apps honestly ran and scaled better than I expected. You may want to hold out for that HP Chromebook Tablet (with pen) that is coming in June.

I've had my Tab S3 for a couple months now and have been enjoying it I use it along with a Note 8. I haven't had any issues that cause me any concerns really other than occasional internet issues but that's usually due to my almost exclusively using it on Wifi or my phones hotspot.

I like it. I'm very comfortable with the Android setup. I don't like iPhones so I don't think I'd like the iPad pros either.

I have both, up iPad Pro 2017 10.5" and just got S3 yesterday. Also iPhone X and Essential1 phones. Had Note 8. S-Pen is better than Apple Pencil. iOS 11 doesn't do it for me.

I wanted to wait for the S4 but that's September. Hope it has 845 and "P" but that's not likely. But SD820 is now 2-years old which i think hurts.

One issue I'm seeing with S3 is a number of apps and not just rare Apple Music, showing "this app may not be compatibility with your device" in Google Play Store.

Also it was nearly impossible to kill Amazon Shopping and restart the S3. Got system not responding. It was so bad i was ready to send it back. Never in all the phones and numerous tablets over the years had something this bad, well maybe once during Oreo beta on S8+ last winter.

I use Adguard and with iOS it isn't full device VPN, no default app, garish antique home Screen.

I dropped S8 and Note 8 and said im done with Samsung. Slow to get even security updates and its included apps plus Bixby is total turnoff.

Compromises on each. Screenshot_20180510-055815.jpg

If you don't need LTE, Best Buy sells a 128 GB version for only $100 more than the 32 GB version - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...%2F6004600.p%3FskuId%3D6004600&token=UJ6w0O-n

I bought the 128, I can tether if I need data on the tab and I'm not home.

Why did I buy a Tab S3? One word - Android. I tried setting up an iPad Mini that a co-worker had but it just felt foreign to me, and things seemed overly complex. Love having widgets on my home screen, and even the ability to place shortcuts to things there (such as to a particular year of a magazine subscription, might even be able to go as deep as individual issues).

I love the customizing options and Intoo have a few shortcuts on my S3 home screen (son's day and night program calendars, downloaded from an email). I have those shortcuts on my S9Plus too.

I am very well vested within Android and much more comfortable with that system.
