Why the battery drains too fast on my new Galaxy S10?

Do yourself a favor and disable the battery % indicator. It is an anxiety producer.

I am never going to be the guy that hrs 8 hrs SOT, I am just not. In 20 years I have never been able to hit the sot that others seem to be able to. For me the s10+ is a legit full day phone regardless of what I throw at it. I don’t need it to be anything more than that.

Same here stopped displaying battery percentage for quite sometime now and never have battery anxiety

Turn on adaptive battery. It will help. For some reason, Samsung turns it off by default.

Also, I made the mistake of playing around with my S10+ for a while just after I got it, instead of charging it to full right away fresh from storage. Later I pumped it up to ~80% before proceeding to use it for the rest of the day. Is this a big deal?
No.... No big deal. Lithium ion batteries are fine with this activity.

That's what I did, but is there away to get if off of the AOD as well? I usually it have it on all the time, except I use Bixby actions to turn it to tap only while I'm at work. So I still have to see the battery percentage on the AOD.

I think I may have found the culprit for the very fast battery drain even during idle (and not randomly waking up inside your pocket, I also found a temporary solution for that) and it has nothing to do with AOD and double tap to wake gesture (I have AOD on single tap, and double tap wake gesture turned on).

Go to: Settings -> Connections -> More connection settings -> Nearby device scanning <- TURN THIS OFF!

And to be sure, disable also the print service under that setting. That's all I did! Last night I've only lost 1% overnight compared to 8-15%!

And while waiting for the proximity sensor fix, I suggest putting the phone in the pocket with the screen facing outwards so that it will not make contact with your hip activating stuff. Even with my older phones I developed that habit so that I'm pretty confident that the phone stays idle. Please let me know if disabling those two above improves your battery life too. And I really can't help it but to the person who suggested to just disable the % on the battery status, it's just lame man. It's like covering your eyes at night so you won't see the monster under your bed. If you really consider it as a solution you should've just kept it to yourself and be happy with it for Christ's sake. It's clearly not going to fix anything.

I've just turned those off thanks for the tip

Will give it a try

Thanks for the tips, I will try turning off the setting you suggested and see how that works.

I will not be leaving the screen facing out.... if I run into something (and I do often) I don't want a broken screen. Disabling tap to wake when I am wearing shorts that cause accidental touches will work for me, until the fix the pocket issue.

sad update: my drain is back to 5-6% overnight (around 6-7 hours) left idle even with double tap to wake gesture and AOD fully disabled.. To me that's pretty fast drain compared to my Xiaomi Redmi 4X which drains 0-1% in the same amount of time.

I would suggest turning on adaptive battery if you didn't already do that. That has made a difference in my overnight drain from 5-6% to 1-2%.

I did that but almost no change unfortunatelly. But still thanks.

I know the pain. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8inc with a 4000m batter and it doesnt lose even 1% durring non use.

So turning off nearby scanning and the printer thing doesn't make a difference? I just turned mine off I'm guessing I don't need them on they were defaulted to on when I got the phone. Just wasn't sure what they were supposed to be on.
