Why the different radios?

I'm debating doing this as well. I would also be paing full price. I actually live in the DC area so it would be sweet. But being full price, I just may wait a couple weeks and see if there is any word on the Nexus. Hell i may buy it on launch, then sell it if the Nexus comes. Damn is there an Android rehab? I'm addicted.

buying it at Costco you have 90 days return policy. But Nexus on AT&T will be HSPA+ only, LTE exclusivity in the U.S. is reserved to Verizon. You could technically buy an International unlocked version of Nexus, it'll work just fine on AT&T. It's coming out in the U.K. on the 17th.
