Why the HTC One M8 is THE best flagship of 2014

Hating a company or it's products seems...weird. I can "hate" some people's actions. It seems more appropriate to me to simply dislike a product or a company but that's just my perspective.

Flippantly dismissing two of the best smartphones because you hate Samsung is non objective.

I absolutely don't hate Samsung the company. I have several of their TV's and appliances. They make great products. I just don't like their phones. I also didn't flippantly dismiss them. Tried both phones for several weeks. Perhaps hate was a strong word. I just don't care for Samsung phones.

Fair enough, we all have preferences (I like a lot about the HTC one, hate the body)

TBH, between my Note 3 and my S5 I gravitate towards my Note 3. Not exactly sure why, I don't even use the stylus and the S5's cameea is notably better. I am not sure why some people has such a disdain for TouchWiz...it doesn't seem intrusive but, admittingly, I use Nova Prime as my launcher...but that doesn't replace the entire interface. I'd like to do a comparison between the M8's Sense paired with Nova and the S5's TW paired with Nova. Though I still prefer the Note 3, the S5 seems like a great piece of kit.

OP sure likes to waster a LOT of time and money on phones. I can' imagine devoting that much time and $$$ in something so trivial in life.

The reason is because it is intrusive on the os. It causes lag on a phone even with as good of components as they have.

Using Nova removes some of this, but not nearly enough and eventually even using Nova will bog down.

At the time when my Note I and Note II came out once I rooted it and ran custom roms , this fact became perfectly clear just how great the phone was with out Touch Wiz. Nothing has changed for the better with any since then, but has in fact become worse with it. All of my Galaxy phones were like this, and when the features that drew me to them in the first place became available in different roms they too were rooted and TouchWiz went away.

While you're enclined to think otherwise, until you see firsthand you will have a hard time understanding this. The vast majority of my friends and family members who have Samsung phones never knew this until shown

What may be a lot of time and money to you may be trivial to the OP. Some have more than others. ...and everyone has hobbies. Phones are certainly cheaper than motorcycles, cars, and planes.
