You all are taking this far too serious, these things are plastic bricks with glass screens and some computer parts inside. Relax.

lack of customization, small screen, elitist attitude...the only thing I like is the camera

"Kristin Huguet, an Apple spokeswoman, said, ?We applaud the administration for standing up for innovation in this landmark case.? She added, ?Samsung was wrong to abuse the patent system in this way.?

Wow....just wow...this coming from a company that's arguably the biggest patent troll in the tech industry.

By the way, I own a few Apple products and use them on a regular basis.

No file manager.

The thing I HATE about iPhone is that I am FORCED to use stupid iTunes just to put an mp3 file onto the phone. This is inexcusable! Users should be able to USB plug phone into computer and copy over an mp3 file.
I also dislike that I can't even customize the default search engine that's used in Safari. I have to use the three privacy-invasive options they provide. Also inexcusable!

I switched from an iPhone 5 a couple months ago and I loved it. Only things I didn't like was that the screen was to small and there wasn't enough customization. Overall iPhones are really great phones, just with some drawbacks.

Patent troll does not mean what you think it means.

I hate the tiny screen, at first it was ok because we didn't do much on our phones, but now we can do just about everything n we need that bigger screen. I hate how I can't customize the keyboard or messaging app or really anything in it besides the wallpaper. You can't add numbers to a reject list! No led notification light. I would add things I miss but this isn't about that lol

Not only that, but the real villain here is Samsung. How this case even needed the veto defies logic.

1. Samsung already agreed that this patent was contributed as a Standards Essential Patent. (SEP). When you contribute a patent as a SEP, you agree to license it on Fair, Reasonable and Non Discriminatory terms (FRAND).
2. In doing so, the IP was licensed to the chip suppliers that Apple bought off-the-shelf. So Apple benefits from buying a part that already has the licence fee embedded in it. For pennies.
3. Ignoring their FRAND obligations on this patent, AND the fact that Apple is already paying for it when buying the part, Samsung sues Apple for infringement.
4. Samsung wants about a $16.00 royalty from Apple when it is being licensed elsewhere for pennies. In spite of their FRAND obligations.
5. Samsung attempts to use this leverage to force Apple to licence their non SEP patents to Samsung. This is in violation of patent law.

Companies cannot use SEP?s in the way that Samsung has tried here and elsewhere. They have already been shut down with this strategy in geographies like Europe. Why Samsung is a hero to so many people is beyond me. Their ethics are non existent.

I am a 15 year Apple product user. I have mainly used the computers for work. I had an iPhone 4 for 3 years, and it performed great the entire time. Not a single issue. I think iPads are over-priced, so when I wanted to try a tablet, I got a Nexus 7 (v1). I found I really liked Android. When it came phone time, I decided to try an Android phone and I got the S4. There has been a learning curve, but I really like the device. But, there are things I like and will miss about the iPhone as well. I have tried multiple keyboard replacements on the S4, and still prefer the iPhones keypad. I do find some tasks quicker on the iPhone, but it could be just the adjustment period. It seems like I am taking a couple of extra steps at times with the S4 though. The iPhone might have a smaller screen, but sometimes it's a nice size to carry while hiking etc. Various little things.

Something I dislike about the iPhone? While it has a great camera, it tends to process the photos and warm them up. I love the camera on my S4 because the images look true to what I am seeing out of my eye.

I will say, vanilla Android is a whole other thing from the Android versions that come on various phones though. As an iOS user, I actually took to Android on the Nexus 7 immediately and loved it. It's not quite that way with the S4. If more iOS users first experience with Android was vanilla android, I think there would be more converts. I do feel like I am fighting with some of the bloat on the S4. If I could have bought it outright, I would have bought a Play version knowing it was more like my S4's OS. But, I don't have the cash. I am considering rooting, but for someone used to the simplicity of a Jailbreak, it's a little scary to me.

Thanks!

I don't hate Apple, right now I just prefer Android. Apple could correct their ills one day...who knows.

Apple even lost their App Store advantage to Google Play. Still I wish Apple, Google and Samsung would cooperate so iMessage and Facetime could be available for Android phones too. I really want to communicate with my friends who have iPhones, iPads, and iPads even though there are other apps out there like KiK. I found iMessage to be fun to use.

They haven't really. Apples app store still blows away Google play with tablet apps, and in general app quality.
