Why will my Samsung S8 not connect to my JBL speaker?

My S8 can see and does list my JBL Charge 3 speaker but it will not pair with it. The speaker does pair with my wife's iphone and it also paired with my old S5. I wonder if this new BT5.0 has some issues that were not thought of before releasing it on the S8. I also tried to connect to another BT speaker. Same thing happended. My S8 could see and did list the speaker but was unable to pair with it. Can i downgrade my BT to version 4.2 on my S8?

Have you successfully paired with any Bluetooth devices? My Amazon tablet will not pair with anything while it's paired with my headphones - it won't switch over. My wife's iPhone won't connect to my speakers if they're connected to another phone - it won't take control.

Try turning Bluetooth off and on in the s8, forget or shut off any devices in the area, and put your speakers in pairing mode (not just turned on).
