So I have had my S5 for several months and have only begun having problems the last month or so. When ever I recieve a notification, bump the lock button or have it charging the screen will stay lit unless I physically press the lock button to turn it off. I have my display setting to timout at 30 seconds and I have checked the developer options to make sure stay awake is not checked. It is draining my battery if I am not around to turn it off when it lights up. Please help.

Welcome to Android Central! Review all of the apps you installed--do any of them control the screen timeout? Like a screen brightness control app, or an e-Reader? If so, uninstall that app and see if the problem persist.

You can also boot into Safe Mode, which disables all 3rd party apps. If the problem goes away, then you know something you installed is the culprit. https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-10696

Thanks! I just booted up in safe mode and it seems to be working fine. Now I just need to figure out which app is causing my chaos.
