Why won't apps download straight to my SD card? [LG Tribute]

I just got a LG Tribute and like many other low budget phones at Virgin mobile, this suffers from low internal storage. Now, I've mounted an 8 GB SD card, it's registered in Settings>Storage and everything. But apps won't download straight to there. Moving already installed apps probably isn't an option because 2 GB of internal storage is ALWAYS used. I also tried ROM Toolbox Lite, and that doesn't work either. If you guys have an answer, please share it with me, thanks in advance.

Welcome to Android Central! As far as I know, apps always have to download and install to Internal Storage first, after which a portion of the app may be moved to the SD (if the phone supports this function).
