Why won't my 3VO root?

ok i only found one other thread on here about my problem and it wasn't much help. I also tried over at XDA but i got no help and only more confused. I'm having to root using the HTC unlock due to the fact that i'm 1.50. I follow the instructions to a t every time i attempt to do this. I get all the way to the part where the phone is supposed to go into the unlock bootloader screen and nothing happens. The command goes through no problem and there are no errors but there is also nothing else.....Just sitting there forever with nothing happening. Any suggestions? tips? I looked at the 2.08 ruu method but i'm not exactly sure how to do that and again i can't find any guides on how to do so...Any and all thanks in advance...

There is a thread over on xda on how to downgrade to hboot 1.4! Then you can root with revolutionary.
