Why won't my Alarm App on my Samsung galaxy S6 work?

I recently purchased a Samsung S6 brand new and downloaded "Shake Alarm" to wake me as I'm difficult to rouse in the morning. I set multiple alarms between 6:30-7:10 AM, but they aren't going off. Each night I make sure they are on, plug in my phone and leave the app open. My screen is set to lock after 10 minutes, however, so I don't know if the plugging in or the locking is interfering. So I ran some tests:

Test 1: Alarm set for 2 minutes later, Manually locked phone. App worked.
Test 2: Alarm set for 15 minutes later. Manually locked phone. App worked.
Test 3: Alarm set for 30 minutes later and let phone self lock after 10 minutes. App worked.

The only thing I have not tested is trying all of this with the Fast Charge power cord plugged in. Are there any suggestions as to why this app won't work?

So it only doesn't work if you set the alarms for those times in the morning? Have you checked if your phone is setting up Priority Notifications or Do Not Disturb mode or something similar during those hours?

I have. I have enabled priority notifications for this app and DND mode is turned off entirely.

Can you try manually setting your time and 'forcing' the phone to be around 6 and 7 am and trying what you tried with the manual lock/unlock of the screen? Do you see any notification changes when forcing the time? What about if you test the 'stock' alarm app? does that one work? or a 3rd party app (maybe it's just THAT particular app)?

I just changed the time on my phone to 6:28. Had an alarm set for 6:30. App did not go off.

Standard alarm went off fine when set to 6:37 though

Found another alarm app that seemed to work fine: Alarmy. Uninstalled Shake Alarm

Mmmm... weird... If you liked Shake Alarm you should e-mail the devs and report the bug. Maybe they'll fix it and once updated, you can use it again.

Glad you found a replacement app for now, though

try disabling power save on the app
