Why won't my front camera record on social media?

So i tried to take a video on instagram, but when i hold down the video button, nothing happens. I figured that this was an instagram problem, but then video wouldnt work on snapchat either. I got the message "video redording failed" (or something along those lines). Is anyone esle having this problem? Im using a samsung galaxy tab 4
