Galaxy S6 won't read 64GB flash drive via OTG cable

I've purchased my Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) a month earlier. It has updated to Lollipop 5.1.1 15 days before. Yesterday, I bought a OTG cable but it can't read 64GB flash drive. However, it can read all 2 of my 32GB flash drives.

Can anyone tell me why:
1. it is not reading 64GB flash drive?
2. what to do to read 64GB, 128GB or more storage via OTG cable?

Thanks,
Ashifur Rahaman

Do you have any other devices to test the drive with? It can be a few things:
1) The cable is faulty (yes, even if it reads a few drives, some others might fail)
2) Is the drive really working (maybe on a PC?)?
3) If the 64GB drive needs a powered USB port, the phone will most likely not be able to supply the necessary power to access it (most external hard drives need this extra power, but some flash drives do as well). If this is the case, you'd need a powered OTG cable, which basically needs an extra USB connection to a charger or a PC to supply the extra power.

Does the device do anything when you plug in the drive (attempting to read, flashing LEDs, something?).

Check the file format, it may be an NTFS/FAT32 deal I don't think android will read NTFS
SO if you reformat the drive to FAT32 it should work, though the down side is if a file is larger than 4gb you wont be able to put it on a FAT32 formatted stick.

Yes...you have to reformat the drive. I have a 1TB external that I use for my s6 and it didn't work at first.... After reformating it works like a champ.
