Why won't my HTC One M8 charge or boot up?

HTC one M8

my HTC one M8 will not charge ir boot up at all. I bought it from rent a center about 7 months ago. thay wont repair or replace it without cost to me. Do I have some sort of warranty? Can I sendit to HTC to have it fixed? Is there a way I can fix this issue myself? I have used differe+t chargers and outlets. getting power to charger, just not phone. My other phone charges fine with same chargers and outlets

Did you check the outlet to make sure it has power? Did you try a different charger?

yes. I have. nothing gets power to my htc

You may have a factory warranty. I'm not sure about how the various rent to own type stores operate for cell phones, but I think some will take back items not paid off and resell them. If your phone was indeed brand new when you bought it, the 1 year warranty should be in effect. If it was pre-owned, the warranty may have expired already from the first activation.

Your best bet would be to contact HTC to see what they show for warranty status.


As for the problem itself, I'd suspect the USB port is bad.
