Why won't my L3 G3 Phone send hotmail emails?

L3 G3 Phone will not send hotmail emails

I cannot get my hotmail to send emails from the LG G3 phone. I can receive emails, but when I compose emails, it looks as if they have sent, but they do not go into the sent folder nor get sent. I also cannot reply to anything although it looks as if I am replying. I can send emails fine directly from my computer. Note: This only started happening a few weeks ago. (I didn't know it though and thought I was responding to emails, etc.) Not sure what changed. I have tried everything I can think of within my hotmail settings. Help!

My email app are you using for Hotmail? What server settings are you using?

I'm using the "Email" app version 6.41.25.
Server settings:
General settings: microsoft exchange (default)
Sync/send/receive:
update every 4h
folders to sync: inbox, drafts, sent
days to sync: 1 day (but I've been manually syncing to no avail.)
message format: Html
message size limit: 50 kb (granted, i've been sending 1 letter test emails and nothing goes through)
server policy: allow everything

It's so weird that I type an email. looks like it sent and nothing is in the sent box and nothing sends.
