Why won't my LG Optimus G Pro boot up?

I picked up a LG Optimus G Pro cell phone from a friend to try and fix it. The phone won't boot past the initial LG logo. However, the home button continues to change colors. My guess is that the KitKat software has somehow been deleted.

He did install an application and we believe this may have caused the wiping of the software or virus perhaps.

Does anyone know how to completely erase the phone and reload the software?

same problem here bro.....just experimenting with change of sims twice or thrice and there you are...phone is stuck up.....lg logo and blush button....nothing after that......need solution....

Odd...I'm wondering if the software was somehow wiped when the LCD application was installed. I don't know how to revert it to when the app wasn't there.
