why won't Microsoft Bluetooth mouse connect anymore

Due to issues after lollipop update (5.1.1) I wiped cache partition then did a factory reset on nexus 7 (2012). I then installed Next Browser and Apex launcher after reading those suggestions on a nexus help page. Now my Targus Bluetooth keyboard works but my Microsoft Bluetooth mouse isn't even discoverable. They both worked GREAT before. Is it the launcher?, Browser?, or terrible lollipop. Any idea how to fix it?

Could try checking to see if the drivers are up to date.
