Why won't my Moto G recognize songs downloaded from my laptop?

why won't my moto g recognize songs downloaded from my laptop

I have a few different cds ripped to my laptop and am trying to sync them to my phone but when i try to sync them again it says files are already on device but when i look on my phone it can't find them
