Motorola razr droid won't turn on

Hello everyone! I have a droid razr, which wont turn on or charge. there's no white, green, or any light. but when I tried to plug it to my PC it did recognize the phone, but still, it wont turn on while pressing the power button, or power + volume or holding all the buttons. no reaction at all.

any suggestions? Thank you!

Re: Motorola razr droid won't turn on

Welcome to Android Central! What does the computer recognize the phone as? Does it identify it as a Droid Razr, or just a generic USB device?

How long did you hold the Power button for? Sometimes you have to hold it down for 15-20 seconds. But my suspicion is that either the battery or the motherboard has failed.

Thank you for your reply! I tried to hold it for even longer but.. nothing. :) Battery seems to charge, because the phone gets heated, also, while trying to power it on it did vibrate for a very short time several times. PC does recognize it as motorola razr droid, even shows me memory drives and motocast. but still, not lights, no display.

How warm does the back get when charging? If it gets pretty warm pretty quickly, then the battery is probably failing--that's a common symptom. If it's failing, it's not able to hold a charge, and therefore can't power on.

Seems like the battery was completely dead, as well is the screen. after charging the phone for 1 hour and trying power it on, i've heard the sound of the boot sequence but there's nothing on screen... so, it seems it's the display

The screen would have to be replaced, which might not be worth it. Although you could connect the phone to an HDTV via HDMI cable.
