Why won't my Music app play .wma files? (LG Velvet, Android 10)

Got a nice deal on a 5G LG Velvet from T-Mobile, very happy with it so far... but after transferring over all my music files (yes, I still store actual mp3 and wma files) I've found the native Music app won't play them all: it seems to stick on .wma. Seems odd, since my last phone (also LG, running Android 9) had no problem with them. I tried downloading VLC, which will play all the files (or seems to); but has some odd behavior (I can't get it to play the next song automatically, for instance). Would love any advice; thanks!

.wma is Windows Media Audio format, you'll need a player with the CODEC to play such files. You could try WinAMP as well..

Thanks Hallux. (OP here... I had to do some archaeology to resurrect my original AC membership)... I realize this is a Windows/Android thing; was just puzzled as to why the player suddenly won't support .wma after it used to work. I guess I'll give WinAMP a try. Thanks again
