Android Central Question

I have an LG G6, had it for about a year, and have never had a problem before. But for whatever reason a few days ago,, my phone and computer simply wouldn't sync up. I used the charging cable that came with the phone (and again with a spare from Walmart) and nothing. My phone is charging, but it never gives me the option in the notification tray up top to transfer files, or to allow the computer to look thru them. I've used both cables to transfer files (music mostly) from my computer to the phone many times before, and as recently as a few weeks ago. I've updated the drivers for my computer, tried usb debugging in developer mode, and everything else that I've seen on these forums to no avail. I even reset all my preferences and settings, thinking that maybe I accidentally disallowed my phone to be accessed from my laptop. I'm at my wit's end here. Thanks in advance

LG G6

Which version of android?
Which carrier?

Your computer: mac or windows? Which version?

When was the last time your computer did an update to the OS?

I'm the OP, sorry for the lack of specificity. In order: Android 8.0.0, Verizon, Windows 10, and the last time I can recall a Windows update was roughly 6 weeks ago

SFCable, if he hasn't gotten it straightened out by now (the thread is 7 months old), he's not still reading here. (And you don't need a driver to copy files, unless you're running Windows 98 or earlier - the phone appears as a flash drive. Drivers are for deeper uses, like flashing files.)
