Why won't my phone open?

I last used my Pixel 2 approx 7pm last night (Australia) it was over 80% battery life. This morning it won't open up. The screen is just black and when I plugged into charger no difference. The green indicator light is flashing. What should I do?

let it sit on the on charger and then soft reset. power plus volume down
