Why won't my razr m charge?

So I've had my razr m since the end of the school year last year and it won't charge. I've tried everything I could find and everything my dad (he's a software engineer) said to do and it won't charge. I know it's something with the charger port but I don't know what's wrong with it and it's not the first time it's happened. I've had several micro usb devices all have stopped charging after a while and I'm starting to get fed up with it I snapped my kindle fire in half because of this issue so if anyone could help that'd be great

Welcome to Android Central! Does that mean that you've already tried different USB cables and wall plugs? Have you also cleaned the microUSB port with a can of compressed air or a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol? Inspected the pins for damage?
