why wont my s7 power down.

My s7 tan out of charge last night. Since i recharged it it wont let me do anything and its getting very hot. Ive tried to turn off in vain. Ive also tried all the variations of pwer button and volume down button, power button and volume up and home as well as power button with volume up and volume down. Help. sl

Try holding just the power button until it powers down.

It may take 15-20 seconds or so.

If that does not work, I know you said you tried holding the power and volume down, but try it again for at least 20 seconds and see if it takes you into the Maintenance Boot Mode.
